Brief and constraints

Briefing & Challenges

Client Brief

The portfolio needed to feel personal and cinematic without becoming a heavy editorial site. The interface had to disappear behind the photographs, but still give the archive a strong structure.

Challenges

  • Balancing a sparse UI with enough navigation for a large image archive
  • Keeping image-heavy views fast and stable across breakpoints
  • Making the site feel immersive without hiding the basic browsing controls

Delivery path

Our Approach

01

Photography first

The layout strips the interface back to essential controls, letting the images create the rhythm while typography and spacing stay quiet.

02

Multiple modes

Flow, grid and map views give the project more than one entry point, so the archive can be browsed emotionally or systematically.

03

Responsive atmosphere

The build keeps the dark photographic atmosphere intact on smaller screens, with controls and image sizing tuned for touch.

Project Highlights

01

Flow View

A cinematic browsing mode for moving through the image archive with large, high-impact compositions.

02

Grid View

A denser view that makes the collection easier to scan without breaking the visual language.

03

Map View

A location-led layer that gives the personal archive a sense of travel and memory.
